Love is in the air as what many would say - because the love month is here. People around Cebu are getting busy preparing (for some, imagining) for ways to express and show their love to their loved ones. There are many ways for a person to show his love and appreciation for his partner. With the help of modern technology almost anything is possible. One can go for a helicopter ride or have a candle light dinner at some expensive restaurants.



However, nothing still beats the traditional way of expressing your love and affection to your special someone. Giving of flowers to the person you love is probably the best way to do it. It is simple, yet the gesture speaks more than a thousand words.

But if you are miles away, or simply shy to deliver the flowers yourself, you can actually have the bouquet or basket of flowers delivered right at the doorsteps of your loved ones.

So what are the ways to send flowers to Cebu?

1. Find online shops - Several flower shops have made their presence felt online. The international ones, or even those who advertised heavily, just tie up with some local shops who provide fresh flowers and delivery service. You can pay thru paypal and/or major credit cards.

2. Find flowers shops thru local directory - All around Cebu, you can find several flower shops. Most have numbers listed in some directories. You may contact them directly and then arrange payment. There could be difficulties as most of them accept only bank transfer or thru some money remittance.

Future florists of Cebu, these young girls are. Trained by my wife, they started out decorating flowers for the church. With a minimal budget, they learned to buy the flowers from the market, and beautifully arrange them.

As I posted here many months ago, there are no rules for floral arrangement. As long as it looks beautiful and pleasant to the eyes, then it's already good enough.

Rules Of Flower Arrangement

A friend mentioned about rules in floral arrangement and it tickled my curiosity to scour the internet for these rules.

Rule No. 1: There are no rules.

What? No rules? Because it is art, and beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. It is about creativity and your instincts. What pleases the eyes is all that matters. As long as you like it, as long as the recipient likes it and is happy, then, that is a beautiful floral arrangement.

What about symmetry and asymmetry? These spoke of balance, and again, it goes back to the basics of beauty. Everyone of us can try floral arrangement. I did, but my wife just laughed at my end result. At least the effort was appreciated and so I got a kiss as a reward.
