Missing Money: Really?

Would you ridicule someone who actually forgets his money? I don’t think you have to do that. Forgetting is possible. One out of eight American has missing money to claim. Especially if you lose the necessary claiming documents and you happen to transfer to another place for a long period of time. Unclaimed checks disbursed thru banks cannot be released to anyone else. In this time of financial crisis in the US, it is better to try locating that missing money now. Who knows if you have millions of inheritance kept somewhere!

If you live in the US, you can search for your missing money and other unclaimed properties like, stocks, mutual funds, bonds, dividends, uncashed checks, wages, insurance policies, deposits, etc, in a website called It’s a free national search endorsed by the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators. But you can’t just search for any one else’s money. Read their TOA to be sure.

I don’t have money in the U.S. so I won’t need the search now. But I’ll probably need it in the future.
